The MCIC microscopy laboratory is fully equipped to conduct biological research at the subcellular and ultrastuctural level in plants and animals.
Oxford Nanopore MinION
DNA sequencing on the Oxford Nanopore NinION is now available at the MCIC. The Oxford Nanopore DNA sequencing system is capable of producing sequence reads of more than 200Kb. Read lenght reflects the length of that DNA fragment submitted for sequencing, user-controlled distribution of fragment lengths generated during sample preparation can be processed. Fluidigm Access Array System
We recently acquired the Fluidigm Access Array System. This is a high throughput system for the simultaneous preparation of highly multiplexed amplicon libraries that can be sequence on the Illumina or sequencing platform. Contact the MCIC staff if you would like more information.
Microbiome research
We support microbiome research by providing services in microscopy and microbial amplicon and whole genome sequencing on the Illumina and MinIon platforms.
